About the team
The Old Parks' women's football team has been a dominant force in the Rand Central District, Gauteng for the past ten years. Currently, the team plays in an 11-a-side winter league and cup competition against other women's teams in Johannesburg. The team has won the league and the cup competitions in this league a number of times. In 2013, the team had an amazing season, finishing second in the league and losing out to Wits, the 2013 league winners in the cup semi-final. 2014 was a break-out year for the team. We had players from age 12 to age 32 competing in the team, and beginners to advanced players, but still managed to win the league and score 99 goals!!! The team played in an Inter-Local Footbal Association League run by Rand Central, against teams such Grupo Desportivo, Wits, Randburg FC and Crusaders. The league was extremely competitive, but the Old Parks women's team made it to the top without losing a game all season. The team has high hopes for 2017!
Players from under 13 to open and of all levels of ability (beginners to advanced) are welcome to participate in the team. We try to include all players regardless of their ability, focussing on development, commitment to the team, spirit and work ethic.
