About the Bowls section

The Old Parktonian Sports Club Bowls Section was founded in 1962 with one green.

The Clubhouse and a second green were built in the early 70’s.

The Bowls Section now boasts 2 well maintained greens appropriately named after two prominent members – namely Lawrie Locke and Robin Craggs.

The surrounding gardens make these greens amongst the most attractive in the region.

The club facilities are sought after as venues for competitions and tournaments under the auspices of the JBA.

The 110 members enjoy a full calendar of Tabs sessions, internal and external tournaments and competitions which ensure that the facilities are not underutilized.

The section runs the following very successful annual tournaments

Saturday Trips sponsored by Bowen Insurance Brokers
Wednesday Fours sponsored by Century Properties.
Sheila Fox Ladies Charity Day run in March
Twilight Pairs Tournament is an annual event
Social tournament held between Christmas and New Year.

Club Shirts, Jerseys and Jackets are available from the committee at competitive prices.

Members are required to be members of the Old Parktonian Sports Club.

Section fees, including JBA  and BSA Levies, are currently under R570 per annum

The club has 3 Mens and 3 Ladies Teams and a pennant side in the JBA Saturday League.

Club Teams are entered in the JBA Midweek League in both the Mens and Ladies Divisions.

The National Tournament and Black & White Tournament are also well supported by members.

Social and Entertainment

The Entertainments Committee is always active and has traditionally arranged several functions throughout the year – most notably a Christmas Luncheon and Musical Quiz Evenings. All functions are well attended and enjoyed by the members.
