Bowls
The Old Parks Sports Club Bowls Section was founded in 1962 with one green. The Clubhouse and a second green were built in the early 70’s. This 58 year old sport section caters for all ages – young and old.
The Bowls Section is very competitive with Mens and Ladies league teams playing at the highest levels. The Bowls Section has 2 x Johannesburg Bowls Association rated greens where the Old Parks Bowls Section host JBA and Gauteng competitions.

The Bowls Section also has coaches who can provide skills training for all bowlers new and old.
This Section promotes bowls development, social and fun days. Having a birthday or needing to get your colleagues out the office for a bit of fun in the sun. Let us know how we can accommodate your needs. The Old Parktonian Sports Club has various venues and fields available that can be hired for a variety of private functions. Our dedicated team will assist you in planning the perfect function that ticks all the boxes.
The Bowls Section has mixed tabs which takes place on Saturday afternoons from 13h30 / 14h00 (winter/summer) and Sunday mornings from 09h00.

Club Shirts, Jerseys and Jackets are available from the committee at competitive prices.
FEES
Members are required to be members of the Old Parktonian Sports Club. Section fees, including JBA and BSA Levies, are currently under R570 per annum
TEAMS
The club has 3 Mens and 3 Ladies Teams and a pennant side in the JBA Saturday League. Club Teams are entered in the JBA Midweek League in both the Mens and Ladies Divisions. The National Tournament and Black & White Tournament are also well supported by members.
SOCIAL & ENTERTAINMENT
The Entertainments Committee is always active and has traditionally arranged several functions throughout the year – most notably a Christmas Luncheon and Musical Quiz Evenings. All functions are well attended and enjoyed by the members.

Both John and Althea are available for individual or small group coaching of beginners or seasoned players by appointment. John has been involved with the Bowls South Africa Standing Committee on Coaching for several years and is therefore experienced at the highest level.
