Old Parks Sports Club is one of Johannesburg’s most respected and established multi-sport and community clubs, with a proud history built on sporting excellence, friendship, family values and community connection.

As the Club continues to evolve, the Board of Directors is seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Club Director – a position that carries the responsibility, influence and accountability of a Chief Executive Officer within the organisation.

The Opportunity

The Club Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and successful operation of Old Parks Sports Club.

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Club Director will lead the Club’s senior management team, including the Operations Manager, Finance Manager, Food & Beverage Manager and Grounds Manager, while providing executive oversight across all employees, facilities, sporting sections, commercial activities and member services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the Club remains financially sustainable, professionally managed and positioned for long-term growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a unique combination of strategic vision, commercial capability, financial understanding, people leadership and a genuine passion for creating exceptional member experiences.

The Club Director will provide leadership across all aspects of the organisation, including:

• Strategic Leadership and Growth
• Financial Stewardship and Commercial Performance
• Membership Experience and Engagement
• Sporting Leadership
• Commercial and Community Development
• Marketing and Sponsorship.
• Property and Facility Management

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be an accomplished executive leader with a proven ability to manage a complex organisation involving multiple stakeholders, departments and operational disciplines.

They will demonstrate:

• Proven senior leadership experience in a commercial, sporting, hospitality, leisure or member-based environment.
• Strong financial and commercial capability.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic plans.
• The ability to lead diverse teams and create a high-performance culture.
• Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
• The confidence to engage with members, sporting committees, commercial partners, schools and the Board.
• A passion for community, sport and creating outstanding experiences for people.
• The ability to balance tradition with innovation and lead meaningful organisational growth.

A relevant tertiary qualification in business management, commerce, finance, marketing,  hospitality, sports management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
